Kid's Adventure

It is the objective of our Club is to provide education at our Gem and Mineral Show each year.  We have the opportunity to teach children about the World of Earth Sciences through our Kid’s Adventure.  Each child is provided an egg carton with labels listing the 12 specimens scattered throughout the Show.  These specimens range from crystals, agates, fossils and minerals.

Just a little knowledge usually peaks the imagination, then it turns into a lifelong ambition in a seeking to learn more and more, and before you know it, you need a bigger room to display your collection; such is the life of a Rock Hound, and it all started because of an egg carton adventure

Sedona Gem & Mineral Club 2024 Scholarship Award

College Scholarship

From our Show profits, we also provide a monetary Scholarship to a graduating student at Sedona Red Rock High School.  Our Board of Directors receives from the High School Administration applications for our review.  We read about each candidate and their desires and reasoning for asking for a Scholarship.   We hope to find a candidate wanting to go into the field of Earth Sciences; we are not always successful but do select a candidate we feel deserves our support.  It is from our funding we can help them with their higher education goals and eventually their careers.
