Sedona Gem and Mineral Club Fieldtrip to Tucson

Each February, we drive to Tucson for a few days at the over 40 venues that sell everything you could ever think of related to rocks. Hotels are filled with sellers as well as buyers. The ground floor rooms are quickly converted to shelved displays of rocks and gems from around the world. We strolled from room to room to see beds tipped up against the wall and display shelves adorned with fabulous specimens. Other shows take over the parking lots along the highway with every size and shape of rocks. Fine gems abound and several venues are huge wholesale shows for jewelry materials.

The Convention Center has the best of the best on display. The total value of items for sale is more than one can imagine. Just cruising through each booth can make your head spin. We meet up at several points during the days and gather at a preplanned dinner location to share stories of the day or to show off our newly purchased treasures.

It is a great way to spend a few days with good friends, great food and hopefully a few of those treasures may even follow us home.
